ELBOW was unveiled as the winner at the prestigious Nationwide Mercury Prize Awards Show on Tuesday 9 September 2008. The Nationwide Mercury Prize judging panel described ELBOW 'The Seldom Seen Kid' as 'an epic rock record - triumphant, heartbreaking, unerringly melodic and life-affirming'.
